Introducing Perfectly Fine
Hi there,
Thanks for coming! And thanks again to everyone who has already subscribed. I want to tell you a bit more about Perfectly Fine.
Perfectly Fine is a free newsletter about music, culture, and why we like the things that we like.
I’ll write to you (yes, you!) twice a week.
On Saturday mornings I will send an essay about something I find interesting, such as “why does everyone love songs about cars?” and “what happens if you design a painting by popular vote?”
I kicked things off on Friday with a look back on Taylor Swift’s seminal album Red. But we will cover topics from all corners of culture and the internet. This week, with the help of a music critic and a philosopher of art, we are going to look at the question: Why does everyone else have such bad taste?
I spend a lot of time scouring the internet for great and often hard-to-find writing. On Wednesdays you’ll hear from me with a curated list of the best things I’ve read, listened to, or consumed via any other medium (… eaten?) that week. When I write about music I’ll attach a specially made Spotify playlist too.
Email me, comment on Substack or send me a DM on Twitter and tell me what you like, what topics you want to read about, and whether you think I’m cool.
Talk to you on Saturday, until then…
Finn
